                              What is the Buildings Business Trainee Program?
                              We lead a small group of qualified prospects throughout a year to acquire an in-depth overview of our business and organization, our customers and their needs. You will begin to contribute to Schneider Electric's success and simultaneously gain experience, develop your skills and reinforce your knowledge. Interaction with other Schneider Electric employees in different countries and international experiences will help you to gain an understanding of both our industry and our corporation worldwide.

                              Which positions can you apply for?
                              We are recruiting trainees to our fastest growing business areas – Energy and Solutions and Energy Edge within the Buildings Business Unit. The Trainee Program offers two different tracks:

                              Project Developers/Project Managers (PD) has a technical focus with segments of creative problem solving and calculations. Your role is to develop the scope and to manage the installation of major end-user projects, with focus on realizing energy savings. This includes coordinating all activities during the project development phase, analyzing energy consumption profiles, analyzing tariffs, and calculating project costs, risks and energy savings. You are the key player in the project team and are responsible for ensuring that the result of the project development is in line with the customer’s vision. In the project installation phase you will lead a team of subcontractors and be responsible for project execution towards the customer.

                              Sales (S) has a commercial direction with focus on sales and planning. Your responsibility is to understand the customers business and how to create maximum value for the customer through our capabilities. You have the exclusive financial responsibility for the project during the sales and project development phase, including risk management, margins and price calculations as well as ensuring full customer satisfaction.

                              What background do you need?
                              For the Project Developer role we are looking for qualified new graduates with an engineering or technical degree. For the Sales role we want you to have a business or economics related degree.

                              We want you to have a strong interest in the field of Energy and end-user solutions, since these are key elements in our business. Due to the high ethical values at Schneider Electric, it is very important for us that your values and work ethics match ours. We want to make sure that both you and Schneider Electric are the right fit to ensure our mutual success.

                              It's necessary that you are fluent in English and in the native language of the country that you apply to. In other words it is necessary for you to speak Swedish to apply to the Swedish part of the program, and so on.

                              What will happen during the Trainee Program?
                              You will start with a company introduction to Buildings Business and Schneider Electric where you will learn the basics about our company, markets, products, strategies as well as corporate values. You will also get to know the other trainees, which will help you to build the network for your future career at Schneider Electric.

                              The trainee year is divided into several periods of training and gaining practical experience. The training periods will all be in Stockholm and Malmö, Sweden, the periods with practical assignments will be in your home countries as well as in international locations. During the trainee year you will take part in a European exchange, where you will spend approx 2-4 months abroad. You will acquire knowledge about our industry, business, customers and their needs. You will receive intense training and take part in ongoing projects and assignments. Throughout all periods you will have coaches who will guide and advise you.

                              Between the periods there are two follow-up sessions where all the trainees come together to share knowledge and experiences with each other.

                              As a trainee you are hired into a specific position, in a specific country. Throughout the trainee year you will refer to this as your home country and will get ongoing support from an assigned coach there. This will allow you to be well prepared for your work after the trainee year and to make the most out of your trainee time with respect to your future position.

                              The trainee program is a strategic investment done by Buildings Business and Schneider Electric. You will receive first class training on energy and end-user solutions sales and project and project execution. As these are key competencies that will be required in more and more business areas in the future, you should be open towards international mobility after your trainee year.
